Registration

Why should I register for the VIP Programme?

VIP offers a suite of tools, assets and resources that have been carefully designed to provide you with the necessary support to develop a comprehensive travel health service that addresses the needs of travellers within your community.

Who can register for the VIP programme?

If you are a pharmacist, nurse or GP you are eligible to register for VIP.

I am a GP, can I register?

Yes, GPs can register for access using your GMC number.

I work as part of a chain or multiple pharmacy, am I able to register for the VIP Programme?

Yes, you are able to register. However, due to your employment as part of a larger group, please inform your line manager / area manager/ Head Office team and ask them to contact us via vipuk@valneva.com to preauthorise your company.

 

Am I free to leave the VIP programme at any time?

Yes. Your VIP account will remain active for 1 year, so you can return at any time within that period. Your Personal Data will still be used for a variety of purposes relating to the operation of our business and the delivery of services to you as outlined in our Privacy Policy within that period.

If you close your travel health service for any reason, we would simply ask that you inform us so that your details can be removed from the Beware of the Bugs clinic finder tool, if added.

As an existing Valneva UK Limited customer, I already have an account with you? Do I still need to register for the VIP Programme?

Yes, you do still need to register. Your existing account is for the purchase of Valneva UK Limited products only. This account is kept separately from your VIP programme account.

You will, however, be asked to input your Valneva account number when registering for future reference.

Cost

How much does the VIP Programme cost?

There is no cost to register for VIP and enjoy access to the neva Online Travel Health Training, our disease area materials and other assets.

Should you wish to purchase any of the printed clinic support materials available through the VIP website, the price will be dependent on the type and quantity of materials required.

How much does it cost to submit my travel health service for inclusion in the Beware of the Bugs clinic finder tool?

If your clinic offers all travel health vaccines, (for a list of travel vaccinations see the NHS website) there is no cost to submit your travel health service for inclusion in the clinic finder tool.

In order to ensure that travellers to all destinations are adequately protected, we can only add clinics that offer all travel health vaccinations, excluding Yellow Fever.

Is there an annual subscription to remain in the VIP programme after the first year?

There is no annual subscription fee to remain in VIP.

Can I purchase Valneva UK Limited products through the VIP Programme?

Yes, but only clinic support, Point of Sale and disease awareness materials. Should you wish to purchase Valneva vaccines or other products, you can do so by setting up an account on the Valneva UK Limited website.

Requirements

Are any parts of the VIP Programme mandatory?

There are no mandatory parts of VIP although we would highly recommend you take the opportunity to benefit from the full VIP programme package.

Do I have to complete the neva Online Travel Health Training if I have done similar training with another company or provider?

There are no mandatory parts of VIP. However, to ensure you remain up-to-date on the latest travel health information, we would highly recommend completing the neva Online Travel Health Training even if you have completed similar training elsewhere.

Is there any commercial commitment to, or partnership with, Valneva UK Limited as a result of registering for the VIP Programme?

No, there is no commercial commitment to Valneva UK Limited as a result of registering for VIP.

How do I submit my travel health service for inclusion in the Beware of the Bugs Clinic Finder tool?

Upon registering for VIP, you will be able to access the Beware of the Bugs Clinic Finder tool submission form via a link on your dashboard.

Am I required to keep-up-to-date with all of the Disease Area materials?

There are no mandatory parts of VIP. However, to ensure you remain up-to-date on the latest travel health information, we would highly recommend you review the neva Online Travel Health Training and Disease Area materials on a regular basis.

Does the VIP Programme contribute towards obtaining my CPD accreditation?

Yes. You will receive 4 hours of CPD by initially completing neva Online Travel Health Training and further CPD hours for completing the ongoing Disease Area materials and neva Online Travel Health Training updates.

Is the VIP Programme certified or endorsed by any of the industry governing bodies?

While not currently certified or endorsed by an industry governing body, Valneva UK Limited have applied to various bodies for review.

Can I set up a travel health clinic once I have completed neva Online Travel Health Training?

Neva Online Travel Health Training provides you with the disease awareness knowledge and risk assessments etc. Once completed you will need to have attended a practical training session which covers National Immunisation Standards covering injection technique, basic life support (BLS) and how to manage/treat potential anaphylaxis within the last 3 years.

Also, you will need to look at the mechanism for delivering your travel service. For example, PGDs, electronic consultation tools or by being an independent prescriber

Setting up my clinic

How long will it be before I can set-up my travel health clinic through the VIP programme?

The neva Online Travel Health Training can take as little as 4 hours to complete.

Once signed up to VIP there is supporting guidance and checklists to guide you through setting up an operationally and clinically safe travel health clinic.

If you have already completed practical training and sourced your PGD provider and have your consultation room set up and you feel competent then you can start immediately.

Do I need to complete any further training, assessment or qualifications other than the VIP Programme to be able to set-up my travel health clinic?

You will need to ensure you have attended a practical training session which covers National Immunisation Standards covering injection technique, basic life support (BLS) and how to manage/treat potential anaphylaxis within the last 3 years.

You will also need to undertake any additional training required by your PGD provider.

If you wish to offer the Yellow Fever vaccine, then you will need to undertake training either by NATHNaC if you are based in England and Wales or Travax if you are based in Scotland.

Do I need to formally register or complete any legal requirements to set-up my travel health service?

No, you do not need to formally register your travel health service. However, if you wish to offer the Yellow Fever vaccine, you will need to register your travel health service with either NATHNaC if you are based in England and Wales or Travax if you are based in Scotland.

Do I need to operate under a Patient Group Direction (PGD) to set-up my travel health service?

If you are not an independent prescriber then, yes, you will need to operate under PGDs.

Does the VIP Programme offer live training for registered users or their teams?

At times, such opportunities will be available and promoted either via your dashboard or in the Ongoing Support section of the website.
